Martin Lewis urges pensioners to claim £5,959.20 DWP benefit with 1m eligible

Attendance Allowance is a DWP benefit that Martin Lewis says pensioners should check for, because it is underclaimed and can pay up to £5,959.20 a year. The allowance, for people aged 66 and over who need regular support due to disabilities or serious health conditions, is not means-tested. Lewis highlighted that there are two weekly rates: £114.60 (about £5,959.20) for those needing help and supervision in both day and night, and £76.70 (about £3,988.40) for frequent help or constant supervision during the day, or supervision at night. He cited figures suggesting around 1.1 million eligible pensioners are not claiming. Even the lower rate could total £3,777.80 annually, and it can be used for any purpose.
