Microbiotica Presents Phase 1b Clinical Data on MB097 at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026
Microbiotica presented Phase 1b MELODY-1 trial results for MB097 at the 2026 ESMO Congress in Madrid (Oct. 23–27). The company said the study met its primary and secondary endpoints and that MB097 was safe and well tolerated when combined with KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab), with no serious adverse effects attributed to MB097. MB097 is an oral, once-daily live therapeutic containing a nine-strain bacterial consortium intended to modulate the gut microbiome. The poster data reported rapid, robust and persistent engraftment, particularly in patients given vancomycin preconditioning. In that arm, 3 of 21 patients (14%) achieved an objective response, including deep regressions and one complete response; the non-vancomycin arm had 2 of 20 responders (10%).
