Nearly 2,000 pounds of cat and dog food recalled. See list

Northwest Naturals recalled nearly 2,000 pounds of frozen raw pet food after FDA testing found salmonella and listeria contamination. The voluntary recall announced Friday, Aug. 28, covers 1,956 pounds across 72 cases of specific dog and cat foods sold nationwide. The FDA said no illnesses have been reported so far, but it warned that serious sickness could affect both pets and people who come into contact with contaminated food or surfaces. Consumers are told to stop using the products immediately, not sell or donate them, and return them for a refund or dispose of them safely.
