Over 20,000 Bottles of Blood Pressure Medication Recalled Nationwide
xCruzo Brief
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a nationwide recall of two blood pressure medications distributed in prescription-only 30-count bottles by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. The drugs are telmisartan 40 mg and amlodipine 5 mg. The recall was issued because of a “superpotent drug” issue: telmisartan content exceeds specifications, making the overall medicine too potent. Affected lots include 3228113, 3228114 and 3228115 with an expiration date of Oct. 31, 2026, and lots 3228120 and 3228121 expiring Nov. 30, 2026. More than 21,000 bottles are included. The FDA classifies it as a Class III recall, meaning adverse health consequences are not likely. Patients are advised to check lot numbers and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
