More than 525,645 packages of Aldi's Park St. Deli Macaroni & Cheese have been recalled due to a potentially undeclared allergen. BEF Foods Inc. initiated the voluntary recall in March, and the FDA classified it as a Class II recall on June 10, indicating a remote risk of serious adverse health effects. The recall covers 58,405 cases, each containing 9 to 20-ounce packages, for a nationwide distribution. The allergen in question is soy lecithin, used in foods to emulsify ingredients. The affected product codes include SUL4839705, SUL4839706, and others listed by the FDA. Aldi and BEF Foods did not issue a public comment when contacted for details.
