Pedestrian and 2 drivers hospitalized after 7-vehicle crash at busy Plano intersection

A high-speed, seven-vehicle crash at a busy Plano intersection sent a pedestrian and two drivers to the hospital Saturday afternoon, police said. The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of eastbound East Parker Road and Avenue K. Officers said a silver Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center median into westbound lanes. The SUV struck a pedestrian standing in the median, then continued into five vehicles stopped at a red light after crossing K Avenue. Plano Police Traffic Unit is investigating. Conditions were not released.
