PolyU, Fudan Launch AI Healthcare Lab for Innovation

Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and Fudan University signed a collaboration agreement on 21 September to create the Suanova Hong Kong–Shanghai Joint Laboratory for AI in Healthcare. The laboratory aims to advance interdisciplinary research and real-world AI applications in healthcare, train AI healthcare talent with a global outlook, and support China’s scientific and technological innovation and public health goals. The signing ceremony took place at Shanghai Bay Valley Science and Technology Park, witnessed by PolyU Deputy President and Provost Wing-tak Wong and Fudan Vice President Zhou Lei. Officials from both universities unveiled the joint lab, combining strengths in AI, medicine, public health and clinical research. Leaders said the project will focus on translating research into clinical practice and starting from genuine clinical needs.
