Pritzker on the good and bad of AI

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker discussed AI, technology, and privacy in an interview tied to the midterm election cycle, framing the issues as part of a potentially major political realignment. He said many problems are “collective action” challenges that require government action beyond single states or piecemeal efforts. The conversation also turned to a political hot button: whether the Chicago Bears would leave Illinois. Pritzker said it’s not the plan and that he and the NFL are in discussions about keeping the team either in Chicago or Arlington Heights, both in Illinois. The interview referenced California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s approach in a high-profile legal dispute involving Paramount.
