Seattle prosecutors mull hate crime charge for woman who bit circle in victim's forehead

Seattle prosecutors are considering whether to add a hate-crime charge in a case involving a woman accused of biting a stranger’s forehead. Prosecutors identified the suspect as Kamilia Chadli, who is charged with felony second-degree assault and held on $150,000 bail. The alleged attack occurred Sept. 18 in daylight, when Diana Gonzalez, 36, was walking to a convenience store. Gonzalez told police Chadli threw a food wrapper at her, then yelled racist and homophobic slurs before spitting on her and biting out a roughly 1-inch chunk of flesh. Court documents indicate Chadli was living in a shelter nearby. A hate-crime investigation is underway.
