Sheila Busheri Scholarship for Medical Students Opens Applications to Support Next-Generation Healthcare Leaders and Underserved Communities
The Sheila Busheri Scholarship for Medical Students has opened applications for a one-time academic award aimed at supporting future healthcare leaders focused on improving access and innovation for underserved populations. The program, launched by healthcare executive Sheila Busheri, is open to current undergraduate students pursuing a medical career and to students enrolled in accredited medical schools. Applicants must submit an original essay of up to 1,000 words responding to how they would use their medical education to advance healthcare access or innovation for underserved groups, including how Busheri’s career shaped their goals. Submissions are accepted only by email. Applications close Jan. 15, 2027, with the winner announced Feb. 15, 2027.
