Supplements for dogs recalled over salmonella risks
xCruzo Brief
Two dog supplements are being recalled due to potential salmonella contamination, the FDA said in a company notice. The products are being pulled because of an ingredient provided to the manufacturer. The recall affects Fi Calming supplement for Dogs (180 g) and Fi 8-in-1 Formula supplement for Dogs (180 g), both sold directly and through online retailers including Amazon.com and Chewy.com. Salmonella can cause symptoms in people such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever, and in rare cases more serious infections. Pets may show lethargy, diarrhea, fever and vomiting, and can spread the bacteria even if they appear healthy. Consumers are told to discard the supplements.
