Virginia early voting starts Sept. 18: What's on the ballot

Virginia’s early voting begins Sept. 18 ahead of the Nov. 3 election, when voters will consider three constitutional amendments and choose members of Congress. Richmond and Chesterfield voters will also decide local measures tied to school construction, including a proposed authority for governments to add up to a 1% sales tax dedicated to public school projects and major renovations. Early voting runs through Oct. 31, and registration ends Oct. 23. Amendments on the ballot include reproductive rights, marriage equality and automatic restoration of voting rights after someone completes a felony sentence. Congressional races in the Richmond area range from Sen. Mark Warner’s re-election bid to multiple House contests in districts 1, 4 and 5.
