Virtual community meeting planned for high-rise development on site of Stone Medical Center in East Lakeview
A virtual community meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, to discuss a proposed 28-story residential high-rise at the site of the former Ida and Norman H. Stone Medical Center in Chicago’s East Lakeview. The existing medical building, located at the northwest corner of Diversey Parkway and Sheridan Road, is being demolished, and the plan also includes building over a closed Sheridan Road parking lot. The latest design, released this month, keeps the height at 330 feet and calls for 345 units, including 69 affordable homes for households earning about $50,000 to $70,000 annually. Amenities include a 50,000-square-foot full-service fitness center and 10,000 square feet of retail, along with 275 parking spaces and 345 bike spaces.
