Annie Andrews expects Trump attacks ahead of Clemson rally

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Annie Andrews says she expects President Donald Trump to target her during his campaign appearance in Clemson on Oct. 21 supporting Republican incumbent Sen. Darline Graham. Andrews, a pediatrician and mother, is focusing on affordability, healthcare, and education, while portraying Graham as a handpicked choice of the national Republican establishment and Graham as a Trump ally. In a Oct. 20 stop at New Chapel AME Church in Union, she urged voters to stop GOP-approved Medicaid cuts affecting rural hospitals. Analysts say the rally could strengthen Graham’s support among conservative “Upstate” voters. Andrews said she’s willing to work with Trump to solve South Carolina’s problems.
