Data from the Australian Taxation Office showed foreign purchases of residential dwellings at 0.5% in 2024-25 (2,672 of 540,439), with 0.8% in 2023-24 (4,092/525,039) and 0.9% in 2022-23 (4,463/476,136). Foreign purchases of vacant land also declined to 1,951 in 2024-25.
