Bracken Ghyll Golf Club's £8,000 gift to Nell Bank set to save charity £9,000 a year
xCruzo Brief
Bracken Ghyll Golf Club has donated £8,000 to outdoor learning charity Nell Bank, a contribution expected to generate savings of about £9,000 per year. The club, which named Nell Bank its charity of the year, raised the funds through efforts led by Seniors Captain Simon Lawrence, Ladies Captain Judy Taylor and Men’s Captain Martyn Fisher. The money will buy new grounds maintenance equipment for Nell Bank’s 25-acre site, including a trailer mower, a powered push mower and power tools, allowing maintenance to be handled in-house and lowering ongoing costs. Nell Bank welcomes around 24,000 children annually, with about a quarter attending via free or subsidised places.
