Jewish Museum in Rural Argentina Stays Open Amid Clash With Local Government, Rare Hilma af Klint Abstract Painting Hits Auction, and More: Morning Links for October 20, 2026
The Villa Domínguez Jewish Museum in rural Argentina says it will stay open despite water damage that has affected walls, documents and historical objects. Located in Entre Ríos Province about 225 miles north of Buenos Aires, the museum is operating under an agreement in which the building belongs to the municipality and the Jewish community safeguards the collection. The conflict followed the resignation of local historian Osvaldo Quiroga in January 2025 after nearly four decades overseeing the site. Despite a shrinking community of nine Jews, representatives say the museum remains important for local history and tourism plans. Elsewhere, Stockholm’s Bukowskis will auction Hilma af Klint’s Ser III No on November 19, estimated at $600,000–$800,000.
