Browns coach Todd Monken sees room for Deshaun Watson to improve after back-to-back wins

Browns coach Todd Monken believes Deshaun Watson still has room to improve after Cleveland’s 21-18, back-to-back wins streak gave the franchise its first winning record since 2023. Watson didn’t face boos from the home crowd following Sunday’s result, but Monken said the veteran knows he can play better. Against the Panthers, Watson connected on 16 of 30 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns, and responded twice in the fourth quarter to regain the lead after Carolina scores. The offense missed on several throws, including attempts toward rookie WR KC Concepcion that were uncatchable, while also avoiding interceptions that could have come on a few risky plays. Monken highlighted Watson’s improved pocket movement, including 11 rushes for 45 yards, and pointed to the need to clean up rhythm and downfield accuracy before Thursday night.
