Canadiens ride 4-game win streak back home to face Penguins - [your]NEWS

The Montreal Canadiens will play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night with a four-game winning streak on their side, all earned during a road trip. Coming off a 5-2 win Thursday over the Dallas Stars, Montreal credited its third-period execution and “maturity” for the stretch. Cole Caufield leads the team with eight goals and had two Thursday, while Alex Newhook also scored twice. Phillip Danault added a first goal of 2026-27 into an empty net and a defensive night included two assists by Noah Dobson and 17 saves from Jakub Dobes. Mike Matheson was scratched late with a lower-body injury and is day-to-day; Lane Hutson set a franchise record with his 136th career assist under age 23. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, fell 4-3 in overtime Thursday to Utah Mammoth and received Sam Girard’s return after a lower-body injury; Evgeni Malkin and Logan Cooley factored in the loss.
