Cram the Cruiser returns for 10th year at UK

The University of Kentucky Police Department is running its 10th annual Cram the Cruiser toy drive for children receiving care at Golisano Children’s at UK. The department will accept new, unwrapped toys through Thursday, Dec. 3, with drop-offs at UKPD headquarters at 152 Transcript Ave. in Lexington. Monetary donations are also available online. The drive ends with the third annual Parade of Toys on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m., when collected items will be delivered to the hospital as campus partners participate. UK Police Chief Joe Monroe said the effort began after a friend’s brother died of rare cancer. Last year, donations filled eight or nine vehicles.
