Cruise lines run September deals every year, and most travelers miss them

Cruise lines keep rolling out Labor Day–season promotions every year, and 2026 is no exception. After school starts and family demand thins out from the late-June-to-August peak, carriers move into a new demand period and use limited-time offers to stimulate bookings. In 2026, Cunard’s sale ended Sept. 9, while Costa, Scenic, Emerald and Celebrity Cruises are running promotions through mid-to-late September, with end dates varying by line. Prices are driven by revenue-management systems that can move cabin categories differently—such as balconies rising while interiors fall—based on each category’s demand and inventory targets. The industry recorded a record passenger year in 2025.
