Cumbrian cruise raises over £4,000 for Sunbeams Music Trust
A sold-out cruise on the Raven steamer at Ullswater raised £4,140.50 for Annie Mawson’s Sunbeams Music Trust, the Cumbrian charity announced. Held last week, the evening welcomed 120 guests who enjoyed live music and entertainment while taking in Lake District scenery. The event featured performances by the MUGS ukulele crew from Penrith, which delivered two sets during the cruise. Organizers said funds will support Sunbeams’ community music therapy, which serves more than 2,600 children and adults each month. Sessions take place at the Sunbeams Music Centre, across more than 55 outreach locations in Cumbria, and online via Zoom. The money will contribute to the Music For Life and Music For Dignity programmes, aimed at supporting disabled and disadvantaged individuals and their families.
