Donegal International Rally: Big names, big hype - Why 2026 could be a classic year
The 2026 Donegal International Rally is shaping up to be a classic, anchored by a star-studded entry and a demanding schedule on Donegal’s famed stages. The event runs from Friday to Sunday and features 20 stages in total, setting the scene for early markers in what could be a landmark weekend. The field combines a five-time World Rally Championship winner who is a current WRC driver, a three-time Donegal winner, and an Isle of Man TT record holder, underscoring the event’s cross-discipline allure. Kris Meeke will make a long-awaited return to Irish rallying, while Josh McErlean will pause his WRC commitments to tackle the Donegal hills. Callum Devine, who has captured the last three Donegal rallies, seeks a historic fourth in a row as the Irish Tarmac Championship regulars take aim at the overall honours.
