Grandad returned from shopping trip to find his home had been bulldozed
Bob Thwaites, 79, returned from a shopping trip on May 6 to find his creekside home in north Kent had been bulldozed, along with all his possessions, after demolition by Land Logical. Thwaites has lived in a caravan on the Swanscombe Peninsula for 35 years, starting an off-grid lifestyle there after his marriage ended in 1991. He is now seeking an interim injunction that would allow him to return to the site with a replacement caravan while a wider legal dispute over rights to the land is decided. His lawyer argued the demolition was unlawful trespass and said Land Logical should have pursued a possession order and court enforcement instead. The case involves claims around adverse possession and registration, with court proceedings citing a key given to Thwaites for access to the peninsula.
