Hundreds turn out for 'No Kings' rally in Tucson in strong winds

Hundreds of Tucson residents turned out for a “No Kings” rally on Saturday despite strong winds along East Speedway near North Country Club Road. Organizers said the event is part of broader “No Kings: Vote Early” efforts aimed at boosting turnout roughly two weeks ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections. The National Weather Service reported wind gusts between 55 and 80 mph, with conditions expected to ease later. Tucson’s gathering at Speedway and Country Club ran alongside other scheduled events, including the Tucson Meet Yourself festival downtown and Party in the Park / Boots in the Park at Rillito Park. The rally is one of four Tucson-area events listed for Saturday, with more than 3,000 nationwide.
