Inverclyde Tourist Group marks 25 years with celebration on board cruise ship
The Inverclyde Tourist Group marked 25 years of service by hosting a celebration onboard the Majestic Princess, with Captain Giuseppe Castellano and the ship’s crew welcoming the volunteer organisation alongside Global Ports. The group has helped bring visitors to Greenock, supporting the town’s rise as a preferred port for major cruise operators. Chairwoman Anne Allan and other members used the event to reflect on the organisation’s progress since its official launch a quarter-century ago, following years of behind-the-scenes work. In recognition of its efforts, the group received a Queen’s Award in the year after the Queen visited during her Diamond Jubilee tour. Guests included founders Lillian Newman, Eleanor Robertson and Liza Dow, plus civic and political representatives.
