Les Kiss backs Beale to 'compete' for Wallabies' World Cup spot: 'He's in there to perform'

Kurtley Beale has been recalled to the Wallabies for their UK spring tour, and coach Les Kiss says the 95-cap playmaker is now in the mix for Australia’s Rugby World Cup squad. Beale answers Kiss’s call ahead of three Tests against England, Scotland and Wales, followed by the inaugural Nations Championship finals from November 21-23. The recall comes after Hunter Paisami withdrew for personal reasons. Kiss stresses Beale’s return is about competition for the No. 10 spot as Australia weighs experience versus youth ahead of next year’s home World Cup. He also confirmed back-rower Tom Hooper is cleared of injury after shoulder scans returned positive.
