LSU students rally at Board of Supervisors meeting amidst police repression
Students at Louisiana State University rallied during a Board of Supervisors meeting in Baton Rouge on October 16, demanding an end to what they described as recent LSU attacks on Title IX. Supporters gathered inside to speak while another rally took place outside the meeting. The organizers included Students for a Democratic Society (LSU SDS), Injustice Reform, Feminists in Action, Tiger Prison Project, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, and Tigers Against Sexual Assault. During public comment, board members repeatedly interrupted Ziad Eissa, vice president of LSU SD, and police later removed him and three SDS members who were waiting to speak. Protest chants reportedly carried into the building as police presence increased, including officers from multiple agencies. The coalition also announced a week of action from October 19 to 23.
