Morton boss on what he wants to see from co-operation agreement with Renfrew

Morton boss Ian Murray said he expects the club’s cooperation agreement with Renfrew to benefit both sides. The deal has sent young players Dean Black, Joey O’Toole and Louie Murphy to the Lowland League (South) outfit on loan. Murray highlighted Black’s early-season impact, including a long-range strike that drew Morton level against Arbroath last month—his first senior goal and Morton’s first of the season. Although the decisions to loan Black and Murphy initially surprised some, Murray argued the experience should help them return to Cappielow as better players. He also stressed that all three can be recalled at any time due to injuries. The loanees are expected to contend for places in Renfrew’s starting XI for their next Lowland League West match against Pollok Juniors at Newlandsfield on Wednesday, September 16.
