Negru wants to help bring Swindon 'back where they belong'
Stephan Negru said his priority after signing for Swindon Town is to help the club return to where it “belongs,” targeting promotion. He joins the team as one of two additions made so far in the summer, alongside Mitch Clark, bringing experience and quality to a side that narrowly missed the playoffs last season. The Moldova international, aged 23, has nearly 100 appearances and has previously played for Shelbourne, Oxford United, Salford City, Bristol Rovers, and Tranmere Rovers, including a spell challenging toward the top of League Two with Salford. Negru said he wants to push Swindon back into League One, describing League Two as tough but saying he wants to prove his capability to the home fans. Manager Ian Holloway emphasized physicality and experience, and Negru said he offers a mix of control and willingness to tackle as a centre half.
