Netballers take on Liverpool Halloween tournament in fancy dress
xCruzo Brief
Izzy Mills, 28, from Lytham in Lancashire, is using netball to tackle loneliness and help women build friendships. Mills created the Nice Netball network, which runs 30 clubs across the North West, and hosted a Halloween tournament in Liverpool where “fancy dress was compulsory.” While netball played a background role, 56 women from the network came together for a themed event described as featuring everything from Donald Trump to Willy Wonka. Mills said she struggled to meet people in her 20s and wanted a social space rather than a purely competitive one. She added that Nice Netball welcomes women aged 18 to 87 and has helped attendees dealing with post-natal depression and divorce.
