New 805bhp Peugeot e-T16 concept reinvents '80s rally hero
Peugeot has revived the “T16” name for an extreme, rally-inspired e-T16 concept that previews the next-generation e-208 and hints at a possible production future. Built on a new e-208-based design direction, the concept is wrapped in aggressive bodywork and draws inspiration from the Group B 205 T16, which won the World Rally Championship twice in the 1980s. Peugeot claims the e-T16 develops 805bhp and can sprint from 0 to 186 mph in 16 seconds. The automaker says it’s conceptual for now, but design director Matthias Hossann told Autocar that if there’s enough interest, it could be made. The idea is understood to use a heavily upgraded version of the STLA One platform and a drivetrain matching Formula E’s 805bhp figure, though details were not confirmed. A key goal for any production version would be road drivability, not just track use.
