Ten-man Freiburg bag late winner against Schalke to go top of the Bundesliga

Freiburg moved to the top of the Bundesliga after a 2-1 win over Schalke 04 at an 85th-minute cost of Keisuke Goto’s header. Freiburg had started the season strongly, already on a club-record 10 points from their first four matches, and climbed to 13 on Sunday, ahead of Borussia Dortmund on goal difference. Maximilian Eggestein put Freiburg ahead after 10 minutes, but Schalke levelled through Adrian Gantenbein on the half-hour. Freiburg were reduced to 10 men when Yuito Suzuki received a second yellow card in the 64th minute, yet Schalke failed to take advantage, and Goto sealed the victory five minutes from time. Bayern drew 2-2 with Augsburg and are third on 11.
