The Premier League’s prize-money pool for 2025-26 has broken new ground, with more than £3 billion to be distributed among 20 clubs. Arsenal are projected to earn about £198.7 million in broadcast revenues, up £27.2 million on 2024-25 and £23.8 million more than Liverpool received for the title a year earlier. The Athletic, using club data, projects the league will distribute over £3 billion for the first time, up from £2.8 billion in the previous three seasons. Merit payments alone are shaping the new reality; Arsenal are expected to take around £75.2 million in merit payments, about 42 percent more than Liverpool's £53.1 million in 2024-25. The final weekend's results carried real financial consequences, with six clubs potentially finishing in six positions and an £18.8 million swing in prize money depending on Sunday outcomes. Sunderland's 2-1 victory over Chelsea boosted their prize money to an estimated £168.2 million, about £11.3 million more than a 10th-placed finish would have yielded. At the bottom, Burnley's late equaliser added roughly £3.8 million and triggered parachute considerations for next season; parachute payments are dictated by the equal-share pot, largely unchanged at £88.4 million this season.
