One Player Every Premier League Club Failed to Sign This Summer

Premier League clubs shattered records in summer spending, but the shopping spree didn’t translate into every marquee signing. England’s top flight reportedly spent about $4.7 billion (£3.5 billion) on new recruits for a second straight year of transfer-record spending, yet each club still had targets slip away. Arsenal missed out on Vinícius Júnior, after he agreed a contract extension with Real Madrid, and also failed to secure Atlético Madrid’s Julián Alvarez. Aston Villa couldn’t land Rafael Leão, who joined Galatasaray from AC Milan for $52.3 million (£38.7 million). Bournemouth failed to bring in Joe Scally, while Brentford had an early setback when Said El Mala pulled out of a $58.1 million (£43 million) deal with Köln.
