Pain' from Yankees' 2024 World Series loss lingers with Dodgers back in Bronx
Pain from the Yankees’ 2024 World Series loss continues to linger as the Dodgers return to the Bronx this weekend, their first visit since winning the title. Manager Aaron Boone said the disappointment of reaching the end and “coming up short” leaves a lasting mark, even though the memory can fade. The matchup is scheduled for Saturday but was rained out, then will be made up Sunday as a split doubleheader at Yankees Stadium. The 2024 Series went five games, with the Yankees blowing leads in Game 1 and Game 5. New York entered Game 5 up 5-0, but errors and misplays helped the Dodgers rally. Entering the rematch, the Dodgers were baseball’s best-record club despite significant injuries to Edwin Díaz, Tyler Glasnow, Will Smith and Blake Snell. The Yankees’ biggest concern is Aaron Judge’s fractured right rib.
