Paul Schrader’s upcoming erotic thriller Non Compos Mentis is assembling a lead love triangle featuring Sam Worthington, Liam Hemsworth and Cara Delevingne. Schrader—who wrote and will direct the film—is scheduled to begin production next month in New York, with additional cast still being finalized. The story centers on two privileged brothers confronting their mother’s decline into dementia, splitting between a polished New York defense attorney and a hard-edged corporate heir. The attorney’s affair with a younger woman triggers a volatile triangle, fueling obsession, betrayal and a fight for control of the family fortune. Earlier this year, the project had a different cast including Caleb Landry Jones, Sarah Pidgeon and Dianne Wiest. Production is by David Gonzales, executive production includes Nadine de Barros and MFM’s James M. Vernon, among others. Fortitude International has pre-sold the film to Germany, Italy and the CIS territory. Schrader comes off Venice Competition drama The Basics Of Philosophy.
