The case stems from a minor rape conviction from 2013, where the Rajasthan High Court on May 27 upheld his conviction but acquitted him on charges related to gangrape and penetrative sexual assault under the IPC and POCSO Act. Asaram was sentenced to life imprisonment on April 25, 2018 under multiple provisions including the Juvenile Justice Act. The Supreme Court will now review his challenge.
