Robert "Chuck" Solly
Robert “Chuck” Solly, a Philadelphia-born U.S. Air Force veteran, died after complications from a fall at his home, according to the obituary provided. Solly was born April 16, 1948, grew up in the Philadelphia area and Horsham, and played on the varsity basketball team at Hatboro-Horsham High School, graduating in 1966. He attended “Fredricks College” and later joined the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, meeting his wife on a blind date while stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base. They married June 5, 1971, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo. Returning to the Philadelphia area for work, he later moved back to North Dakota, where he spent 28 years at NDSU as a lab supervisor and instructor. Services include a vigil Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 7:00 PM, and a funeral Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM, at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, with burial in Casselton, North Dakota.
