Seahawks DB Trevon Diggs Has Path to Nearly Triple His Salary
The Seattle Seahawks have structured Trevon Diggs’ one-year contract to allow him to earn significantly more than his $1.215 million base salary. ESPN’s Brady Henderson reported on August 26 that Diggs can add $2 million through incentives tied to defensive snaps and interceptions, bringing the deal’s maximum potential value to $3.215 million. The incentive system is non-cumulative within each category: he earns only the highest tier reached for playing-time and, separately, for interception totals. For example, 50% defensive participation plus five interceptions would yield $750,000 from each category. To reach $3.215 million, he would need 60% participation and seven interceptions. The plan targets availability, after an ACL tear in 2023 and injury-disrupted seasons, and ball production—Diggs led the NFL with 11 interceptions in 2021 and has 20 career picks.
