During the visit, Surprise Squad’s Gibby Parra offered to pay for shoppers’ groceries as families picked up items such as breakfast foods, water, and weeknight essentials. Multiple recipients said the help arrived at a critical time amid high prices, and at least one parent noted the difficulty after losing SNAP benefits in Arizona and having four children. The giveaway extended to a community meal order, with a shopper saying chicken wings were needed for the House of Judah after Sunday services. Parra said the aim was to make the day easier, and participants described it as unexpected support.
