South Africa investigation launched as Springboks icon faces having contract torn up - AOL

South Africa hooker Bongi Mbonambi is under investigation by the Sharks after alleged misconduct during a team-building trip. Reports from South Africa say the double Rugby World Cup-winning Springboks forward may face disciplinary action related to an incident at Bayala Private Safari Lodges, after players allegedly continued socialising into the early hours despite coaching staff instructions for preparations for a return to full training. Mbonambi’s future could depend on whether the franchise terminates his contract if he is found guilty. He has been absent from training sessions and matchday squads despite reportedly being fit, and Sharks coach JP Pietersen declined to comment when questioned by journalists.
