Tarik Skubal finally debuted for the Los Angeles Dodgers after controversy tied to his trade from the Detroit Tigers. In his first outing, the results weren’t ideal: LA fell 5-1 to the Chicago Cubs, and Skubal’s outing ended after six innings. He allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks, striking out six. Skubal said LA’s defense contributed during key moments, crediting Andy Pages for covering soft fly balls, Kyle Tucker for plays, and even the team’s ability to get the ball back quickly—helping keep Pete Crow-Armstrong’s hit at first base.
