Texas Christians die in wreck on Africa mission trip - The Christian Chronicle
Jim Mynaugh and Richard Gill, both 67 and members of the South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford, Texas, died in a head-on collision while on mission work in Zambia. The Oct. 20 crash involved a Toyota Fortuner and a Hino Ranger on the Great North Road near Zimba, according to Zambian police and the Lusaka Times. Police official Moono Namalongo said the driver of the Hino Ranger attempted an improper overtake while traveling uphill, leading to the collision; Gill and Mynaugh, who were passengers in the Toyota, died at the scene. The Toyota driver Michael Namafente and passenger Laston Muzandu were taken to a hospital in Livingstone, along with the Hino driver and four passengers. Mynaugh founded Divine Water, a nonprofit focused on hand-pump well installations.
