Titans Forced to Cancel Chris Johnson's 'Ring Of Honor' Ceremony During Week 1 Due To Unfortunate Circumstances As Former RB Battles ALS

The Titans have postponed Chris Johnson’s Ring of Honor induction that was scheduled for halftime of Week 1 on Sunday against the New York Jets. The team said Johnson and his family couldn’t travel to Nashville due to ALS-related circumstances. Tennessee posted the change Friday, adding that the club still plans to honor Johnson during halftime as a tribute and will hold the official induction on a future date when he can be there at Nissan Stadium. Johnson, a 24th-overall pick in 2008 from East Carolina, announced his ALS diagnosis last June on “Good Morning America.” His career included 1,000 rushing yards in each of his six seasons in Tennessee, and a still-standing NFL record 2,006 rushing yards in 2009.
