Traffic Stop In Great Mills Turns Up Suspected Cocaine, Suboxone Strips

A Bushwood, Maryland man faces drug charges after a traffic stop in Great Mills led deputies to suspected cocaine, Suboxone strips and drug paraphernalia. James R. Hall, 55, was arrested on October 2, 2026, after a St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw a red Chevrolet Equinox stopped at Norris Road and Chancellors Run Road with its front tires over the stop line and in the crosswalk while the signal was red. After the vehicle turned left, deputies stopped it near Chancellors Run Road and Military Lane and a K-9 team alerted to controlled dangerous substances. A search found suspected cocaine residue and 43 suspected Suboxone strips in a black bag, along with Hall’s personal documents. He was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and one count of drug paraphernalia.
