Video catches moment suicide bomber attacks peace rally in Pakistan, at least 14 killed

A suicide bomber attacked an anti-militant rally in Kabal, a town in Pakistan’s Swat Valley in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing at least 14 people and injuring more than two dozen others. The blast struck a crowd gathered near a police station where residents were calling for tougher action against militancy and chanting for security. District police chief Omar Khan said the rally was organized by locals angered by the resurgence of militant activity, with demonstrators demanding authorities eliminate armed groups. Emergency services spokesperson Bilal Faizi said the attacker targeted dozens of protesters, including civilians and police personnel. Pakistan’s president Asif Ali Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called for resilience as militancy reportedly resurges in Swat.
