Vote by the record: JD Vance speaks at Fairbanks rally for Sullivan and Begich
Vice President JD Vance spoke Monday, October 5, at a rally in Fairbanks urging Alaskans to re-elect Republican Sen. Dan S. Sullivan and Rep. Nick Begich ahead of the November 3 election. Appearing with Sullivan, Vance highlighted what he said were Sullivan’s achievements on energy, defense and fishing, contrasting them with Democrat Mary Peltola—whom he criticized for failing to advance bills and for positions Vance cited on boys in girls’ sports, open borders and resource development. The visit followed the U.S. Department of Energy’s announcement of funding for a new Railbelt power line. Vance also cited Sullivan’s role in shifting Alaska to the center of national defense talks, pointing to the 11th Airborne Division, F-35 squadrons at Eielson and missile-defense spending.
