When will Villa Park's North Stand be re-opened?
Aston Villa’s iconic North Stand at Villa Park is set for a major refurbishment that will reshape the stadium next year. The club’s North Stand, originally opened in 1977 in place of the Witton End terrace, will be closed for the full 2026/27 season. Villa said construction is expected to be completed in time for the start of the 2027/28 campaign. In an April announcement, Aston Villa revealed it had accelerated the project schedule, aiming to finish by that same timeframe and citing “significant cost savings.” The work couldn’t be completed during the off-season due to the scale of the job. Season ticket holders from the North Stand can move within Villa Park this season, with priority to return next summer. Business Operations president Francesco Calvo said reducing capacity temporarily is meant to minimize disruption and support the club’s long-term future while staying compliant with financial regulations.
