Apollo has launched European Credit Company (ECC), a €10 billion ($11.2 billion) private credit platform focused on lending across corporate, asset-backed, infrastructure and real estate markets. The venture is backed by several major investors, including Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC), extending Apollo’s push into Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth ecosystem. ECC will target performing credit in Europe’s large and mid-market sectors, investing in real-asset owners tied to infrastructure and property as well as corporate and asset-backed lending. ECC is led by CEO Giacomo Petrobelli and Chairman Christian Meissner. Apollo said the platform aims to tap a “generational opportunity” for financing Europe’s long-term growth agenda.
